MUIS Majlis Hari Raya @ Shangri La 17/9/10

We performed for 3 sets, each lasted for 45mins, 30 mins and 20mins respectively. It was pretty tiring, nevertheless we did well.
We played Hari Raya songs from Saloma, Sanisah Huri, Ahmad Jais and M Nasir and the usual selawat and nasyid songs.
Kudos to those who performed for this show.

Anugerah Arif Budiman @ Grand Hyatt 24th July 2010

The ensemble performed for the Anugerah Arif Budiman organised by Kesatuan Guru Melayu Singapura(KGMS) at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Singapore on 24th July 2010. In view of the Bulan Bahasa, the ensemble hv learned and performed the songs Zapin Beradat and Gunung Payung, both are malay traditional songs. On top of that, they also performed the usual Astaghfirullah medley and Tawassalna.
Congrats for the great performance and we hv received very positive feedbacks from organisers and guest that afternoon.
To those who are stepping down...all the best in ur preparation for Os...remember 'believe u can and the know-how-to-do will develop by itself.

1st AWI summit (23rd to 27th June) Bandung Indonesia

Alhamdulillah, the senior members of Madrasah Aljunied Angklung Ensemble has successfully completed the 1st AWI summit held in Bandung Indonesia.
It was an amazing experience for all. A very fruitful trip with a lot to offer. Members learnt abt the history of angklung, the art of making and tuning an angklung and instruments and culture from Thailand and Phillipine.
Of course the highlight of the summit would be the gala concert. Members performed two sets, first being a collaboration work of Thailand, Indonesia and S'pore playing a traditional thai song using the thai's angklung. The second set is the contingent's very own set comprising of 5 songs namely Astaghfirullah, Solawat Badriyah, Ya Robbi Bi Mustafa, Tawassalna and Iktirof. The showcase was backed by Alhafiz on gambus and bamboo flute.
Being the only group from Singapore, Madrasah Aljunied Angklung Enssemble has done very well and the performance was well received by guests and officials.
As an instructor to the ensemble...i am very proud of them, they hv put the name Madrasah Aljunied to a greater height.
Thank you to AWI (Angklung Web Institute) for the hospitality and organising such a summit.

Tiada latihan pada hari Sabtu 27/3 ini....
Practise will resume the following week, maybe another one or two sessions before we stand down for exams.
Congratzs on the launching of Divine Inspiration....the show was good...u did well!
Saya terima banyak congratulatories dari mereka yg hadir, also from the nasyid group from UK, they were impressed with all of u. The music director of the group hv approached me and wanted to do a collaboration with u....i'll be discussing with him via email regarding this.
Mid year exams coming....start ur revision now....sekarang jugak, dun procrastinate. U hv excelled aesthetically, u must also excel academically and bring good name to Madrasah Aljunied and make ur parents proud.
Syabas for the fantastic show.

PS: that was a soft launch.....the official launch will going to be on a much bigger scale....insya Allah. That was the plan.

The debut album will be launched on Tue 23rd Mar 8pm at Madrasah Aljunied Al Islamiah.
All are welcome, admission is free. Do spread the word around.

Concert awak ialah hari Selasa 23 Mar selepas magreb, plse take note. Apart from the dates given below, 23rd Mar itself after school we'll be having the final prep and prac for the concert.

Pengumuman - Album Launch

Assalamualaikum

Plse take note that launching of your album will be on Wed 24/3/10 selepas magreb di dewan madrasah.
As such, i hv arranged a series of practise sessions to gear up towards the event.
Before that, plse take note that this coming Sat 13/3/10 tidak ada latihan.
Sebaliknya, latihan insya Allah akan dijadualkan pada tarikh berikut:
1) Rabu 17/3/10 3pm to 6pm
2) Khamis 18/3/10 3pm to 6pm
3) Sabtu 20/3/10 2pm to 5pm

Plse attend all sessions. Ustaz/ustazah akan confirmkan lagi tarikh tarikh latihan, as for now, plse reserve all the said dates.

Plse inform all ur friends berkenaan perkara di atas and visit this blog periodically for any changes and updates.

Latihan - 23rd Jan Sabtu

Assalamualaikum wr wb,

Untuk latihan esok, plse come in proper attire..either pakaian sekolah ataupun pakaian Sukma. A group of film crew will come to film all of you during practise. This is for a documentary which will be shown in the States. You are representing madrasah, so adab tatasusilah dan pakaian sebagai seorang pelajar madrasah harus dijaga.
Practise will be as per normal...we'll be playing one or two songs for them to shoot.
So, seeya tmr..

Tips macam mana nak jadi pelajar yg berjaya

As mentioned during practise, this applies to all

1) Start your day by telling yourself that today is going to be great day, if possible shout out loud.

2) Sedekahkan alfateha pada ibu dan bapa every morning WITHOUT fail.

3) Focus and pay attention in class, no distraction physically (eg hp ) and mentally (eg thinking abt bf )

4) Clarify on lessons that u dont understand on the same day, jgn simpan or procastinate

5) Sleep early, becos u need to catch the REM which normally occurs between 2 to 3am, otherwise u will find difficulty remembering wat u've learnt.

Follow the above religously....believe u can do it and the know how to do will develop by itself.

Pelancaran album

Salamz!

Konsert pelancaran album akan diadakan pada akhir bulan Mar.
Persiapan telah pun bermula Sabtu yg lalu (9/1/10)
Latihan seterusnya pada hari Sabtu nie...saya harap attendance and punctuality akan improve from this coming Sat onwards, otherwise i may hv to take drastic actions. To those yg very regular in ur attendance, well done keep it up.
I want to hv a big sound...in order to do that, i will hv to use up all the kulintangs that we have ie all 10 of them. And i cant use all the kulintangs if attendance is not 100%, hence my music arrangement will be affected.
Big sound with new arrangement, i'm going all out for it...tapi saya sorang je tak akan memberi sebarang kesan, all must chip in...and i promise you, ur album launch will be another unforgettable xperience...and it will be a headliner.

So, hope to see all of u this Sat, at....u knoe the timing, and hopefully i can use all the kulintangs this time
